    Re: car

I was once browsing Peugeot 206 GTIs on Pistonheads and found a listing for a black one with black wheels. One of the two photos was taken in the black of night from a distance that cut off the front and back of the car. You could make out a reflection on the windscreen and the outline of the wheel arches. The other photo was taken from the opposite end of a car park.

    Re: car

while more a deliberate attempt at deception rather than just incompetence in much the same way you have to wonder how this would help to sell a car:

Before we bought our current car I went and looked at a few different ones.

One of them, a Seat Ibiza, was at an independent used car dealer.

In the pictures he had one of those magnetic signs advertising his lot stuck to the side of the car. Now this in itself did not strike me as strange because we see this all the time.

I got there to look at the car only to discover that the spot that the sign had been in had a huge ugly dent in it and the sign was placed there to deliberately cover it up.

What he though he was going to achieve is beyond me, I certainly was not going to buy that car the way it was and his underhanded tactic put me off his entire lot so there is no way I was going to buy any car from him.

When it snowed last year and the year previous, the amount of people on autotrader who couldn't be arsed to get the snow off the car before taking the photos was ridiculous.
