Windows Server 2008 - training courses

Hi all,

Hopefully got the correct location.

My work place are looking to get me course material / send me on a Fundamentals of Windows Server 2008 course. I was just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere that I can see examples of what to expect on the course or point me in the direction of some reading material?

If you are looking at the microsoft curriculum , then have a start here.

The windows server exams are the ones the courses are likely to be on. unless you are looking at something specific like small business server , expect the content to be a little bit of active directory and the deployment / management of a number of servers and resources ( users etc. )
In addition to the official Ms course material , there are a load of 3rd party published books on the subject.

From what i gather a course has already found, my managed just needs to get funding for it.

Im just trying to give myself a head start by getting my hands on some material that I can read before I go on this course :/

Openshaw College has a course that might fit the bill.

You talking about the MANCAT? That's where I spent my college days.

Work are hopefully paying for a 5 day course with someone in Manchester City Center.

There is a prep guide on their which you can read through. Its not a bad course though and will give you a good start on the admin of the server. I did it with my team last summer as a starter before moving onto the more detailed Microsoft training for server 08 and exchange.

Yeah thats the one. Looks like I could be getting sent on one of the 5 day courses, want to try and give myself the best possible chance of passing
