    IE infection/Mystery objects?

    Hey all,

    ? How can you check if you have an infection. (Key logger etc)
    ? How can you cure the infection. (I don't use IE any more)

    Allso I have some mystery objects installed in my temp internet files, does anyone know what they could be and if they are hramfull ?

    #1 Name: {11111111-1111-1111-1111-111111111123}
    Type: ActiveXControl
    Strange because: it's status, total size, creation date, access date are all listed as "unkown" & what the hell kinda name is 11111 blah blah blah...

    #2 Name: {33564D57-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}
    Type: ActiveXControl
    Strange because: Same as one above, except the total size is listed as only 4 KB ?? again strange name.

    #3 Name: IntraLanuch.MainControl
    Type: ActiveXControl
    Strange because: I don't remember ever excepting a download of a file with this name.

    #4 Name: Java Runtime Environment 1.3.1_01
    (This object is listed twice)
    Type: ActiveXControl
    Strange because: it's listed twice and both the listed objects status is "Damaged" & no total size is give, but more importantly, in this current climate of secretly executing java stuff, anything java, even in other browsers is bad right ?

    Cheers, Dave.

    Try putting them through Mikrosovt Knowledge Base. When I recently moved to XP I had so much unidentified crap trying to get out through my firewall... KB'ed it all and most was microsoft apps.

    Ive found Javacool's Spyware Blaster or Spybot Search & Destroy to be capable programs. Also Trend Micro's housecall is worth a visit every now & then.
