Details seem unclear, but as so often appears to be the case with celebs, drugs appear to at least have played a significant part in her recent life. Whether they played any part in her demise is not yet known.
This saddens me, as I did like her earlier material.

can't say I like her... and yes my Wife has her on Media Player (i put her in as Whitney Pooston!)

Surprised she lasted that long with the amount of drugs she was taking.
Idiots, they could use their money to help this world so much, and they all just throw it away, along with their lives (and financing scummy drug lords along the way).
I really liked her earlier 80's stuff, the later dance type stuff she was doing though couldnt stand it.
Like mentioned already, drugs led to her demise with regards to popularity and some weird TV appearances didnt help. Nothing has been mentioned yet though on events that have led to her death.
I can't say I liked her singing that much but, It is sad that these celebs earn all that money and then just use it to kill themselves on drugs.
With all the money these celebs have you'd think they would be on a permanently natural high.
She was abused for years by her husband, Bobby Brown. Can't have helped her state of mind
Rest in peace Whitney. How sad that such a beautiful and vibrant young woman (as in "I wanna dance with somebody") can die at such a young age. I know nothing about her personal life but damn those drugs yet again.
Stay away from that stuff; you can never control it.
