Filter that works with a BT 2100 Graphite phone ?

As subject line suggests I cant get this new ph to work in my current adsl filter unless I plug the ph line into the wall jack directly - which means i lose BB.

The filter im currently using is the same one I got with my thomson speedtouch 330 modem when I was backwith Virgin back in 07, and would prefer to keep it that way , as I was told using other modem type would likely reduce my bandwith due to my exchange/ line not being updated and old.

Is there a specific filter any one could recommend they think might work ?

Contact BT - they sold you the phone, but before that, you might try changing the filter (to a BT supplied filter as they are pretty good quality and meet the required technical performance) as filters do fail, which will affect the phone operation, but not necessarily broadband. (The filter is to stop interference from the QADSL signal interfering with the phone, and the phone from providing a low impedance circuit for the ADSL signal when it is 'off hook')

Well I certainly would NOT go for that! How much does your broadband cost a month? And you would jeopardise the quality with a 99p filter of unknown quality?

At the very least I would go for this (the top one

    http://www.solwise.co.uk/adsl_splitters-plug-ins.htm

but I used these (until I got VDSL)

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/ADSL-Splitte...dp/B000IZS3Y2/

    Or from BT

    http://www.shop.bt.com/products/bt-a...r-rs-4D46.html

Btter still, use a filtered faceplate.

Go for that one then! (provided you have an NTE5 master socket)

Have you tried a couple of ADSL filters to make sure it isn't simply a faulty filter?

I've got a fair hoard of new ADSL filters. I'll send you one for the cost of postage.

Edit: dave87 just beat me while typing.

    Entanet ? Shropshire then ?

Ex Telford here I knew the boss at Entanet. ENTA = ENgland TAiwan.

"Entanet" the name was dreamed up my a mate of mine with the tag "You've heard of the Internet, now try the Entanet".

Tacky I know, but they were my ISP for years and they always gave top notch customer service.
    Cheers, David

That particular faceplate will mean you don't need a filter, as the filter is built into the plate. Same effect, was just going to save you a few quid

Re: Filter that works with a BT 2100 Graphite phone ?

If its anything like the old BT DECT phone I once had, nothing short of binning it will help.

This was back in the dial up modem days, and the phone would have to be unplugged to use the modem at all.

I've used both the ADSL nation filtered faceplate and a good plug in filter. I didn't notice any difference between them in performance.

Re: Filter that works with a BT 2100 Graphite phone ?

This is my current speed test results.

    Heres my ping test

I tried doing this line check using the Dr speedtouch software for my modem ( as recommended here ) but it wont detect it on my netbook ( which is using xp ) and id rather not have to remove the drivers to run it as its highly erratic to install again.

Maybe the best idea is just trying the filters first / cancelling my order - ugh
