"The product was invented and patented by the University of Leeds, UK. Researchers are good at research, but have no experience development. I want to introduce curodont to the market by cooperating with the right partners. I am anticipating a time horizon of two more years." Lysek continues: "The product market approval process is anticipated to be concluded by the end of the year
Dominik Lysek is the founder of the company - and if he said 9 days ago they are awaiting for UK approval then i believe what he says....

Persinally though I have no complaints about UK dentistry, my last crown was preparerd, made and fitted (milled from a block of ceramic in the surgery) in just over an hour. (Cerec if anyone is interested in Googling it)
It took the UK a long time to accept Cerec.

There's a big difference being invented and being used in the UK, how many things have been invented in this county and due to the lack of industry support gets exported out only to come back 20 years later.

It has a CE approval it is automatically approved in the UK, and if you read the site the official site you see it has, not some site that has outdated information, i think you may need to get your facts corrected.

This country has become regressive in every way, an economy dependent on house prices, it truly has become a backward country, people not jumping in to a pond that is knee deep to save a kid.
For your information Yes, I do plan to leave this country, its fallen apart, its a broken nation, its taking steps back not forward, there is no honesty left in this country, Britain is no longer Britain its become a totalitarian state.

Whoa! Steady on there peter...this is still the best Country in the World in which to live. Don't believe all the press hype about "how bad things are" those doom-mongers are starting to get on my goat. Sure, we are going through change, but that's what we always do. Adaptation keeps us ahead.

Got to agree with you there mate! We're going through huge changes at the moment, but so is the rest of the world, we've just got to make sure we stay one step ahead.

    Re: Dental Advice

Its the same in medicine (NHS, hospitals) peter, England takes ages to allow anything as they have many strick procedures. I know that a new scanner that is set to provide mass savings and save alot of lives in the process (more availability) that is in trials and has had 100% success but still the NHS says it will take another 1 to 2 years before it can be approved to be sold to the UK. However if we went to the US it would be sold after 6 months (including the trials that were done previously).

The UK is bogged down with procedure that sometimes it risks lives by taking to long but its easy to see why they do it. Dentistry is probably similar that it requires alot of testing, its not like they want to use new things and realise theres something in there that will destroy teeth within 2 years.

I find my dentist is extremely well mannered and she does a great job. About 3 years ago there was a hole developing in one of my molars and would need filling shortly down the line but instead of charging me for a filling they filled over it (it was a small small hole), the patch has sorted everything and is still going no problems .

Havent had a filling yet (crosses fingers)

That's because there are too few dentists, a lot of dental treatment which benefits health and well being is not funded by the NHS and so looking after your teeth properly is both expensive and a lottery in the UK.
We simply need more dentists in the UK but there aren't enough university places here.

new windpipe stem cell scaffold was created in the UCL UK but they are not able to use it because of NHS requirements, so surgery is carried out in other European countries, so far the the success rate is 100%.

My impression is that the US also ends up with a higher number of (reasonably) high profile law suits for products which were rushed to market - I can't think of (m)any in the UK.

I'm probably wrong to correlate the two, but I can't help feel they're linked.

    Re: Dental Advice

Oh most certainly dave, thats probably the main reason behind it . The problem is its hard to have a good compromise, if its a product that you know is 100% flawless and you get stuck behind then other markets get that advantage.

However id rather the NHS be over cautious than throw any crap onto the market with our tax money!

The metal joints problems in the UK is just one case.
