Trip to Paris: what android apps?

evening all. I'm having a 48 hr trip on the eurostar to Paris with some lads for some beers, football and (maybe) a little culture.
ill have my Samsung g s 2 with me but data turned off.
what apps should I load up before I leave?

I currently have the free 'trip advisor' which looks good.
the official ratp (underground ) looks to need a live data connection though.
any good ones worth considering? (free or a few quid).

Think the obvious one is Google Maps and precaching the area you intend to be in. GPS will still work so it should be fine if you ever get lost in a drunk rampage XD

Does Google maps not pull data down as you need it though?

Depending on network and stuff, can you not purchase a data pack for 72Hrs?

Could try Guidepal, whilst its content might not be anything useful to you, it is offline and free.

Find the area you want on the map

Hold your finger down

When the address popup appears, tap it

Select "Precache" from the list

It downloads something like 10km2 around that point, but you can cache multiple areas if you need more.

Use MapDroyd, it's free and entirely offline you download the maps you require on your WiFi connection.

Sorry should have explained. You have to enable the feature first in labs.

Settings > Labs > Precache map area.

Then just go to maps and hold down on to a point to get the options menu. Precache option should be there

I think it does a 10mile square and you can have up to 10 of them!
