    Amazon Prime Help

    >>edit<< I got info I needed, just waiting for Amazon to see sense.<<end of Edit<<

Can anyone help me with Amazon?
I recently signed up for the Prime service and got my first order really screwed up...I'm trying to cancel it, but they are being legal eagles stating T&C's at me..
What I need is the wording used to entice you to sign up...
Anyone without Prime could you put through a dummy order on an Amazon product ( for example ) and tell me the wording offered to encourage you to sign up?

I think it was "need it fast? Get it delivered by 1pm on Tuesday April 15th"

    Thanks

    Re: Amazon Prime Help

Are you trying to cancel the order or the yearly prime service?

And are you on the free trial of Prime or have you already paid for it?

I can understand that as a prime member, you expect the order to be delivered by one day delivery and clearly we have let you down.

The vast majority of prime orders are usually delivered well within the expected delivery time; however, occasionally a package may be delayed. This is not a common occurrence.

I would like to confirm that these estimated dates are incorrect. Though the dates are longer than expected, we would make sure that the order is delivered before the dates specified.

We build our catalogue on information from many sources and our ordering system automatically estimates dispatch and delivery dates for each item. We need to know of any errors in the ordering system, and customer feedback like yours helps us to continue to improve the service we provide.

    Regarding Amazon Prime:
    =====================
Since you have only received benefits on a small number of items, you may be eligible for a partial refund of your membership fees when you cancel your membership. Click on the 'Your Account' link on the top right hand corner of our website, then choose the option 'Manage Your Amazon Prime Membership'. Here you will be informed of the cancellation option available to you.

According to the Terms & Conditions of Amazon Prime, you can cancel your Amazon Prime membership and receive a refund of the membership fee only if you or your registered guests have not made any eligible purchases. You can review the Amazon Prime Terms & Conditions here:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/cust...deId=200198240

If you'd like to continue your Prime, you may continue to receive your delivery benefits until your membership expires on April 05, 2013.

I hope that this information has clarified things and please accept my sincere apologies for any misunderstanding.

    Re: Amazon Prime Help

I have had a free trial a while back, but I checked and they are offering me another so I'm probably not being shown the details you need.

What they are promising in the way of delivery speed is:

Place your order before the deadline displayed on the item detail page to get:
Unlimited FREE One-Day Delivery on over a million eligible items
Express Delivery (delivery before 1pm) for £4.49 per item
Evening Delivery for £7.48 per item (London and Birmingham addresses)
No Minimum Purchase - No need to think about delivery charges when you order

Anything else I can look up under the circs?

Oh so you used the free trial and now it gone past the free time and they have charged you for it?
If so you could tell them that the goods sent by them were select for a prime delivery "next day" however they haven't kept that part and you wish to have full refund as they have haven't delivered the service you paid for.
if they come back too you and say no, you could say that you'll only pay the amount of days that upto the last order that was delivered on time, so if it were 5 days you just do 49.99/252 *5= 99p
so it has been 1 week Monday to Sunday you deduct 2 days as those aren't business days, remember 5 working days "week ends and special days do not count" to give the amount you would pay. 252 is the amount of business days a year.

    Re: Amazon Prime Help

if you paid for the guaranteed 1pm delivery with the eligible products (4.49 extra even on prime account)
    their small print states..
The guarantee applies only to items that include a message about Guaranteed Delivery below the availability information on their product detail page. If the item's product detail page doesn't include this message, the item isn't eligible for Guaranteed Delivery.

The guarantee applies only to products sold by Amazon.co.uk via our website http://www.amazon.co.uk. It doesn't apply to any products purchased at Amazon.com, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.co.jp, Amazon.ca, Amazon.it or any other website operated by Amazon.co.uk, its affiliates or third-party merchants accessible from our site (including, for example, Electronics featured merchants). The guarantee doesn't apply to any products purchased through Amazon Marketplace. If a Guaranteed Delivery option isn't advertised for an item, Guaranteed Delivery isn't available.

The guarantee doesn't apply in the event of service interruptions or failures caused by events beyond Amazon.co.uk's control.

so they seem to have sowen it up but i feel you should be able to point out their breach of contract
on delivery as requested and paid extra for, which they have failed to do so.
Similar to the post office special delivery before one o clock if they fail they will refund the cost.
the wording of original invite not much help to you as you have already bought the prime service and entered into a contract with it,read the small print on prime delivery to glean what you can use with in that

good luck and hope all goes well for you.

Would have thought that you won't be able to get out of the Prime contract on the grounds your first paid order was late, but you should at least be able to get the delivery fees refunded for them being late.

Thanks for all the help, I'm trying again....

Ironically they've also said the one item I needed (a present) was handed to a different courier by accident and might be with me next week...LMAO!

Thats always a good one, since anything after it leaving Amazons warehouse is "beyond their control".

But there are no delivery fees with Prime eligible orders. The Prime service is £50ish for a years worth of next day delivery

I daresay that there's a section of the terms stating that Amazon are not responsible for carrier delays etc. etc. It is unfortunate, but there is little chance of getting out of the contract. They are probably not obliged to do so, so if you do get the matter resolved, it will be down to customer service.

    Re: Amazon Prime Help

It would be fun to do a controlled experiment, ordering 1 time of little value (< £1) over a set period of say....30 days, and see how many of them turn up next day.

If you were extremely bored of course.
