Soooooooooooooo glad i was a sleep, ha!
I enjoyed it thoroughly, the texting and lost phone was plain stupid and the general house/suburb was the only low point IMO. I do love underworld though!
I was also pleased there wasn't a 'green/environmental' agenda as well.

My broadband speed - 750 Meganibbles/minute
Seeing as I (deliberately) didn't bother to watch it and only caught a few highlights, there's not much I want or feel able to say, beyond :-
- how long???
- good on HM Lizzie for getting into the spirit
- the NHS bit will probably have confused the hell out of the part of the planet that isn't this country
- the cauldron bit was very clever, but personally, left me very, well, ho-hum
- HOW flipping long?

The most pertinent word I can think of to describe the ceremony is 'twee'. The chimney bit with Brunel was ok but much of the rest was a jumble. And Paul McCartney....omg.
And another thing; the medals are hideous. Too big and like chocolate money (reflecting the state of the economy I suppose). We could have minted some refined medals.
I like the cauldron but, y'know, turn some off and power a village for free.
None of the Olympic achievement will eclipse Bradley and Team Sky's win in the Tour. That is 3 weeks of hell.
This was on Frankie Boyle's Twitter:
frankieboyle: McCartney upset that Beckham wasn't selected. I'll tell you who else picked the wrong man. Mark Chapman.
