Scouts, guides and police cadets to be sent to riot zones 'to help cut crime' HAHAHA

hahaha they will be turned into mince meat, our MPs can't be that dumb can they?
I can see the Scouts coming out with more mental health issues than being touched by there leaders lol.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...0m-scheme.html
Hundreds of Scouts, guides, police cadets and other youth clubs are to be set up in deprived areas as part of a £10million scheme to improve life chances and cut crime.

Ministers want to bring them in to inner cities in a joint initiative between the Government and Youth United, an umbrella organisation for uniformed groups.

The move will see some 2,700 volunteers trained to lead 400 groups across England in areas such as Hackney in east London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bradford and Middlesbrough.

What exactly are the government supposed to do? At least they're tackling the problem at its roots for a change instead of just ordering more rubber bullets and water cannons...

As for mental scars, Birmingham already has it's own scout troops as I'm sure other inner city area's do, they're just woefully under staffed and under funded. It's not like they're going to ship a bunch of village bred, sheltered country folk into Hackney for the culture shock of a lifetime to earn merit badges in crack dealing...

There's nothing for them to do comes the cry.

What's happening now is a direct result of society being mentally fed on diet of soaps, reality TV and rap.

There's a serious problem when a kid reaches secondary school and can't read or write (I worked in a school for a year with such kids while also trying to help them attain basic computer skills to assist them with gaining employment)
Interests: kicking the ass of technical problems and gaming.

Politicians have simply started referring to all protesting as 'riots' to justify police brutality and false imprisonment.

Punish the parents first and you might get somewhere. Otherwise it's just going to enforce the "us against them" mentality already evident in a great many young people today.

You've got much more chance of a young person feeling connected with their community and valuing it as a result by giving them something to be a part of rather than trying to beat it into them over behaviour that goes unpunished at home.

Young people will never be connected with the community. Look at politics ie MPs they are so out off touch with the young, they never listen to the young, they place the young as less members of our community. You expect them to be part of a community, but that community care nothing for them. You have enforced this with the current polices on benefits etc...

Can we censor daily mail links like we used to some other places?

The problem with the daily fail is not its bias, reading something you disagree with can keep your opinions in check, but that its journalism is so shoddy that I wouldn't trust a story to not be completely fabricated.
