    Cool Shoe recommendations

Badly looking for leather shoes which look like boots but are not and don't have the steel toecaps.

    e.g. Royal Mail Doc Martens

Unfortunately, these have a rock hard inner sole right under your feet and causes all sorts of blisters.

    Thank you!

    Re: Shoe recommendations

The most important thing I've learned while shopping for hiking shoes, which I think extends to pretty much every type of shoes if you value comfort / your feet. It used to be that I would try to find some kind of consensus online about the "best brand" etc. But every feet is different, and the idea shoes for you may not be the ideal shoes for most people (that's if you can even get a 'majority' which I doubt) so you should try *as many as your time allows* before committing to a purchase.

Secondly, many shoes require a break-in time (especially the heavier duty ones) and blisters is quite common.

Lastly you have already paid the money and can't return it, perhaps replacing the insole would solve your problem? The blisters might be caused due to sub-optimal fit resulting your feet moving around rather than due to a hard inner sole, but picking a good third party insole could solve both problems. Look into Superfeet. They aren't cheap but are pretty well regarded (make sure you research them as the colours isn't for the look but different attributes).
