    Drink Spiked

    Well, that was eventful......

Went out with a few friends last night to go see Dresden at Promise (Foundation Nightclub in Newcastle, for those who don't know) We started off in Weatherspoons, drinking a pitcher of vodka + redbull each. Then we moved on to VUZZ to see an old school mate DJ from 10-11, i only had one drink there.. which i think was a vodka and redbull Anyway, after that we headed up to Promise, we watched the first DJ and had a bit of a dance, and i had something to drink... cant remember now, then about 30mins later the full room goes all fuzzy, my head goes all warm and im VERY dizzy. At that point i decided to have a bit of fresh air outside, two of my mates came with me and all the bouncer on the door could tell me was "Enjoy it mate" which for being someone who has never done drugs before, isn't the best thing as i have no idea what's supposed to happen or what i should feel like! Me and my mates then managed to jump into a taxi with me (i couldn't feel most of my limbs) and when we got back to mine(this was around, 2am), all i done was drink water and walk backwards and forwards across the living room until 5:30ish am, according to my brothers friend (they are all druggys you see) id been spiked with Extasy (spelling?) and i tell you it wasn't nice, im glad im able to sit here and type this, i really thought something bad was going to happen! Anyway at the moment im sitting here shivering (no heating, broke two days ago) with a pounding headache and still feeling a bit dizzy.

I know this is a bit of a dodgy area to go into, but if any of you have took E before, what am i supposed to feel the day after? I feel kinda carp at the moment!

Thanks for taking the time to read my little adventure, sorry for the bad grammar and spelling (altho im about to run it through the firefox spell checker) im just a bit shaken up

    Cheers,

    Craig (v.cold)

Never taken extasy (Or most drugs for that, nor do i plan to)... But i have tried Speed.

It was pretty good at first, walked for miles, didn't shut my mouth for ten seconds all day, but the downer was enough to put me off doing it again any time soon. Really does make you feel like s**t.

Right...lets nail this one right here.

Drugs as you well know are both illegal AND dangerous.

With friends like that spiking your drinks, you need to go get some more friends.

Stoopidest thing I've heard for frikkin weeks. I am glad you're well. You got lucky pal. With so much Red Bull and Alcohol in your system, and then a drug that cocks up your bodies ability to control water balance, you got lucky.

You feel like death cos you have just stepped very very near the edge of a big, steep high scary cliff, and you're "mates" are trying to push you over the edge "for a laugh" cos it looks ACE seeing someone splattered on the rocks, OR stuck in a drug limob with no money, no life and a penchant for dangerous chemicals.

OK Zak has had a pop at you now....you KNOW it was wrong, you DIDNT know it was done to you.

I will leave this one open, until ther mods have read it and we will all decide if it stays as a warning to others OR it gets binned.

Glad you're ok dude....eat food, take on a gentle and steady amount of water, WITH other drinks like orange squasg of flat coke. BUT DO NOT DRINK GALLONS

REPEAT..DO NOT DRINK GALLONS>....not today...just a pint every hour or two

ok...sorry to preach..dont wanna loose a Hexite to a stoopid dangerous prank.

Find out who done it and pummel them to a pulp! That's f'ing rank! If ANYONE spiked my drinks (though I'm rather careful with watching my drinks), they wouldn't be ale to walk away...

Afraid I can't help you as I've never known anyone who's taken E before, but you do have my sympathy mate, that must have been a horrible experience for someone who obviously didn't want it!

I dont think it was my friends Zak mate, Harry & Scott both aint the type, Harry is 19 years old and a power lifter so he wouldnt have any on him because if he ever took one it would show up on his drugs test! Scott dosent actually come out THAT much and i doubt hed know where to get such things, they are both quiet lads and both off to Uni soon, both of them know better and were very helpfull when they found out i was bad. Chris my other mate (the one DJing at VUZZ) wasnt around us all night, i saw him for the whole of 2mins at the entrance to promise and thats the last i saw!

Thanks for the advice though guys, i know this is a touchy subject id just like to know what to do Remember.. keep your drink with you at all times and keep your finger over the top of the bottle!

Tbh zak that rant wasnt really needed. As he said his drink was spiked so it's not like he could have realistically done much to prevent it and since he's so anti drugs, i doubt he'd go about with people who would try such a thing, so clearly it couldnt be helped.

I've heard that in some clubs the actual BARSTAFF spike the drinks, cos lets face it, we've heard the horror stories, so we tend to keep our eyes on our drinks at all times. But if the barstaff spike them, we havent got a hope in hell. We trust them to give us our drinks with just what we ordered in them. The fact that the bouncer didnt have much good advice for you doesnt rate the club too well imo.

I think you and your mates have dealt with it very well and you were very lucky, it could have been a lot worse, but you know that.

I was in a situation once where i was, in the end, left in charge of 3 blokes on speed. 2 had deliberately taken it, the other was well i say he was on speed, all the signs were there but we didnt ACTUALLY know what he'd taken cos his drink had been spiked too. It wasnt fair and i didnt enjoy my night as a result.

Basically i think this thread should stay as it's a VERY good warning to people about how easy it is to have your drink spiked and the ways in which you should go about handling a situation similar to this.

What do you mean "Left in charge?"... When i had it i was capable of keeping charge of myself, i just talked too much and must have told the person i was with my entire life story throughout the day...

This happened to my mate about a year back now, cant remember what it was, either speed or extacy, but either way it didnt affact her well she passed out in the club and was rushed to hospital

there she had to have her stomach pumped till wat they could get was out

luckily she was ok, but she had to stay in overnight, etc and was pretty shook up for it

as already said, you were lucky, could have been a lot worse, if your confident your mates didnt spike your drink, youve got good mates, it seems like they took good care of you, just be more careful in future - in most clubs you get a good mix of decent people, then you get a few stupid nutcases (chavs normally tbh) with nothing better to do

i mean, at that point in time i didnt know what any of them had taken, just that they'd taken "something". Only one out of the 3 had taken before, the other two were totally new to it. I felt responsible for them. I've seen what *could* happen with drugs. My ex bf was with lorna spinks on the night she died from taking a dodgy E. I'm sorry but i wasnt prepared to take any risks so kept a close eye on all of them, especially when they didnt tell me till a few days later what it was they'd taken.

All of them knew how anti drugs i was, and the one who had his drink spiked was anti drugs too. I *felt* responsible for all of them, because i didnt know what to expect.

You've got to be careful nowadays mate. Did you leave a drink on the bar or even a ledge for about 30 or more seconds while you got your cigs out (if you smoke) etc?.

This is usually the time people go and drop something in your drink. I'm glad your mates seemed to have very sensible heads as they took you to a relaxed and calming environment rather than letting you gurn it out in the club and panic.

If you feel ikky now, the best thing to do is eat light meals frequently rather than having a regular meal setup.

    Get well soon

tbh I dont think your drink was spiked. Why would anyone want to do that? Unless it was one of your mates (which you say it wasnt). Chances are your body just had a bit of a reaction to the alcohol. It is a poison, after all.

A lot of these "my mates mates drink was spiked" are urban myths IMHO.

Why is it so hard to believe he was spiked? I know 3 people who have had their drinks spiked. 2 of them ended up in hospital and the other just had a really fun night....

Its a horrible thing to happen to you and Im sure support would be appreciated rather than high horse critisism.
