I sold a 2nd hand electric toothbrush on eBay with 20% going to charity..started @ 99p....well surprised someone paid £20 (including delivery for it).
The Buyer paid, I posted it.
The next day the buyer opened a complaint insisting the item was broken.
So I part refunded enough to cover postage and told them they could have a full refund upon return of the item.
The buyer said "I'm not going to return it" and left me negative feedback.
Upon checking the tracking info (recorded delivery) I realised the buyer had started the complaint the day before it had actually arrived.
So I challenged the buyer who closed the case and pocketed the £3.65 partial refund (automatically processed by eBay).
So what do you think eBay can do?
eBay said "On this occassion only we can cancel the negative feedback" and "we'll also report the buyer to our Trust department" but "sorry we can't do anything about the refund" as "Paypal is a different company".
Now if that's not a clear case of a dishonest buyer, backed up with proof...I don't know what is!
Typical eBay, they have their £1.40 final value fee and that's all their interested in.
