The later series and the 'specials' killed my excitement for RD, I so hope I'm wrong in thinking this will be the same old rubbish as its been recently

    Kochanski.

I thought there were some funny moments in season 7 and 8. Mabee not classic. But Krytie TV, Tikka to ride and stoke me a kipper were very funny episodes from the last 2 series. Certainly wouldn't call them bad, but mabee the series were going off the boil.
I'm looking forward to it, they've gone back to old school with it. Old writer back, filming infront of a live audience again.
I'm quite optimistic this will be entertaining.

I too am looking forward to the return, didn't mind season 7 or 8, just the last 3 episodes "back to earth" were the biggest let down for me.

You can't have a live studio audience when your not filming in a studio Very little was done in a studio and what was done was nearly all green screen. Poor all round.

They don't make British Comedies like they used to, Red Dwarf was a classic like Black adder
