    Important Petition - needs support.

    http://www.frans-law.co.uk/

My Mum (District Nurse) asked me to spread the word about this, please take the time to read it and if you agree sign the petition.

I know we had a disccusion about this in the Question Time Section but I think after reading the artical you'll agree that in this case it was wrong.
Please pass it on to work colleagues and familiy.

    Thank Bod & Bod's Mum

And can someone bump this a few times so every one might see it.

This is the last time I'll plug this I promise I dont want to become a pain in the bum, and I dont want to end up to be seen as spamming and attracting the wrathfull gaze of admin . There was just one thing I wanted to get across that I felt was wrong in thing case.

It's clear that organ donation is in high reguard in Spain and that is a good thing, but in this case it has been taken to be more important than actually finding out the correct cause of death and that would make it very difficult for a familiy to let go of their loved one, it could also make a difference to the daughters life and grand-daughters because this might be something that could happen to them and without the knowlage and a possible warning....

Also the way the familiy where treated during the whole affair is suspicous and unfair to say the least, some form of notification of what was happening would have been better.

On the whole dissucssion of organ donation I think it was agreed that even if we didnt understand or agree with not donating your organs that there should be an opt out. And it was even suggested that visitors to our country wouldnt/shouldnt be inclueded in any scheme run in this country.

I'm not saying Spain should change there policy completely but maybe look at it implementation and possibly change it to exclude visitors to the country?

So please if youve got 2mins spare take a look and sign it if you agree.

I'll shut up about it now.

Sorry I disagree. If in the UK we used the organs UNLESS they stated otherwise, we'd have so much less of a problem.
And come on, what use has a dead person got for organs?
    Nah mate. Nah.

its not about what use a dead person would have for organs, its about respect for peoples beliefs and feelings...Maybe you personally dont care, but some of us would be devestated if mu mum died then was butchered by a spanish doctor without my consent. Especially without a funeral. I even think that cremation is wrong, thats just as bad imho but thats not the issue here

Would you be so devestated if she was on deaths door and an donored organ saved her life?

I hate this whole selfish attitude. No-one complains when people get saved by organs, but they're quick enough to complain when there's no organs available.

It's a tragic case. I'm not going to sign the petition though, as I think the woman is barking up the wrong tree. She should be going to the European Court of Human Rights (or something) to force the Spanish to either hand over the organs or admit what they've actually done with them.
