Another eBay whinge!
Today Im really fed up!
Tuesday night I bid for 3 Dido tickets for her gig in Brixton tonight. The tickets were from 2 different sellers, both of whom were promising a quick turnaround as the auctions both finished early yesterday morning and I paid extra for Special Delivery. I won both auctions, promptly paid both sellers through PayPal. I know it was a bit risky - but both sellers had excellent feedback and as I said, promised to send them promptly.
Well - as predicted, I havent received them all!!! :(
Ive got the one ticket which I bid for seperately - arrived by special delivery this morning. But the other two which I bought as a pair arent here!
Ive sent a message to the seller to ask how they were sent and Ive not had a response.
I know I was taking a risk, but boy do I feel gutted. Im supposed to be taking 2 of my friends with me tonight and 1 ticket isnt going to go very far.
Does anyone know if there is anything I can do about this. Obvioiusly the tickets arent going to turn up now which means we cant go - but where do I stand? Is it a simple case that I will eventually be the proud owner of 2 useless tickets or can I claim anything back from the seller?
Thanks Guys!

Depends if the seller sent them yesterday by special delivery. If they did and they don't turn up, you can claim back their value from Royal Mail. If the seller didn't fulfil their obligation to send the tickets in a way that should have ensured they got to you then I'd say you should ask them for a refund. Try and contact the seller to find out what's going on, and to see if you can get a tracking number.

This is what Ebay say about it:

And this is how to get the sellers contact details so you can rant at him/her

Good luck with it :(

Giz the address Honoop
me and the crew will kneecap 'em
-
Phoning them to talk to them would be best if you can manage it- the best solution for everyone would be if you can actually find the tickets obviously, so good luck....

<joins the kneecapping gang with Skii - how dare someone rip off our Honoop>
Honoop, were you given a tracking number. If so phone PO and explain, see if you can get them to dig around for it. Might just be sat in a basket in your sorting office.

Don't panic,
Special delivery often isn't as special as it sounds, and stuff often seems to turn up late in the day, afternoon or even early evening. You can normally ring your local sorting office to find out.
I had a similar problem when I needed to post something to my GF before she flew to the US at about midday. Do I send it first class, so its either delivered first thing or lost forever! Or special delivery (which I stumped for) which /did/ arrive next day, but about an hour after she left for the airport! Beggrit.
Keep tryin to contact the seller to get delivery details, and don't get hostile too quickly, lots of neg feedback has been left 'cos people get angry without trying to sort things out hard enough.
Of course if that all fails, give 'em hell!

Thanks Guys!!
Ive been patient and the guy has FINALLY got in contact with me!!!
Reckons they were sent yesterday by Recorded Delivery. Ive replied asking for the Ref so I can track it with Royal Mail. Im really keeping everything crossed now!!
If he's le-git then he should have a Ref for me and Im hoping its in a basket at my local Post Office.
LOL!! Will let you all know if a 'knee-capping' is required! Hopefully it wont come to that. :)
Will keep you all posted.

If he's sent it Recorded he's a damned fool; the Post Office do not guarantee when stuff sent recorded will arrive, they just get you to sign for it when it does. If he'd sent it Special Delivery you'd (probably) be fine (and if it was late you could claim from royal mail).
If it doesn't show you'd have good reason to ask him for a refund I'd say.

Not Happy!!
Seller not been back in touch since this afternoon, tickets have not arrived and it is now too late to get them from the Post Office even if I DID have the number.
I had a funny feeling that Recorded Delivery wasnt guaranteed next day delivery - I will be trying to get at least some money back from him if it kills me!!!
Thanks for all the support guys!!!
Im off out to get drunk now!! :D
-
If anything I suspect stuff sent recorded is less likely to arrive next day, as it takes a bit more organisation in the depot etc. Bad luck, and let us know if you need any help getting the guy to refund you the money.

with ebay u pays your money and u takes your chances. this is why i hate people saying in the sale forum ' oh i can get that for £** at ebay ' yeah but u might pay a stinger on p&p, item may be rubbish and you may not have anything turn up at all.
good luck in getting your money. if he/she is half decent they should have pointed out that SDelivery was the one you wanted not RCD

Well I give up! Know you take your chances with eBay which is why I initially got stessed, but then was like - oh well, guess I lost out this time.
Seller seems quite genuine, is miffed as to why I havent received them.
Well problem solved when I got home tonight. I requested delivery at my work address coz thats where I was going to be all day. Get home tonight, nice little card from postie through the door telling me they have a letter for me at my sorting office!!!!! My query - HOW????? I specifically put my work address on when I paid for the goods, it even shows it on my payment receipt from eBay. Im confused and I give up now. Enough already - Im all eBayed out!
Thanks for all the help people - I Luvs ya! :)

You ebay login linked to your home addy?
-
Yeh looks like it! :(
I specified my work address when I bought the tickets tho.
Never mind, guess Im gonna have to put this one down to experience. Will try and argue my case with the Seller and see how I get on. Wish me luck.
-
Well, if the message they sent him specified your work addy then it's his fault. If for some reason ebay sent him your home address then it's theirs I guess.
