It's impressively done, but I can't say I like it - kind of grim and grizzly.
Besides, it doesn't really matter how artistic it is - if you don't have permission to do it it's still vandalism. If someone came and painted up your car like that I don't think you'd be too impressed, even if they did a good job![]()
£2000 to paint 4 cows. What a ripoff to the taxpayer.
I'd leave them, they're probably going to get vandalised/arted up again.
Anyway, it's Halloween soon, perfectly sufficient outfits![]()
Bear in mind these are replicas - the originals were moved to the centre of town under the watchful gaze of CCTV.
Personally, I reckon this could be a good prospect for a Fourth Plinth style free for all - i.e. let local artists do their thing to them on occasion, much like this halloween-themed paint job.

FWIW The Parks trust are pretty cool - they do loads of events for free in MK and as previously mentioned they are not taxpayer funded.

Bolton has some elephants (a quick google of "bolton elephants" will find plenty of appropriate pictures) that were installed while we were living there (which, scarily, was about 5 years ago!).
I remember seeing something similar in Brisbane, with cows. One of them was painted to look a bit tarty. The funniest bit was when a drunk took offense to one of them and started beating it up, in broad daylight. The only damage done was to himself though...
Edit: Looks like it was Cow Parade, a charity that gets famous artists to design fibreglass cows that are put on display then auctioned off...

I like this idea. I think artists should be allowed to submit ideas and then if their idea is accepted they should be allowed to paint the cows that way and have their name displayed on a plaque near the cows. Particularly as these are replicas and not original pieces.
