    Nokia suite

    just got a bluetooth dongle for the pc and installed nokia suite, now ive got the phone (6230) and the pc to see each other but having trouble getting the data off the phone, when I try to do it it saves the files in a file that can only be used as a restore, anyone know how I can browse the phone and just pic off the files I want?

    I dunno how you can browse the phone - I'm still working on that one too - but if you just want pictures what I did was send them using bluetooth from my phone. It then went to a Bluetooth Exchange Folder in My Documents.

    Dont use Nokia Suite. Just use Windows XP and pair with your phone as a Obex Data Transfer...

    You can then see all your phones folders and copy them to your PC or vice versa

    or - do use nokia pc suite - but make sure you rename your memory card - it won't work with the default name (undocumented feature - it could also be a security feature... who can tell!)
    works fine for me once renamed.
    that way you can access all files on your phone. also - once you do this, SyncML works correctly when phone is locked.

    <edit>
    Just checked it - with my shiny new phone - only allowed me to sync the phone and carry out backups - no data access...
    renamed mem card, and all was fine.
