    Scammed on Ebay....oh woe me

Just got myus parcel in with a small collectors piece I ordered .

Unfortunately the damm thing has broken head which wasnt mentioned or easily noticable in the pic ( it was in a box ) the seller doesnt accept returns ( which suits me fine ) but now Im left wondering where I go from here.

Will ebay cover this If I bought its from the UK ?

I thought the seller had to accept returns if an item is delivered faulty.

    All explained here.

    Have you emailed the seller?

Maybe you can get him to return your money for a worthless item, always worth negotiating and then you will see where you stand.

Yes im just going to try that, the only other option is trying to find a new head or reselling...

rest of other items are nothing like the pics either .. 2 wins and 3 losses not a good day.

    sigh

I recently had an issue with an item that was not as described (repaired damage) and the seller did not accept returns,

If your case is valid and the seller does not want to know, contact the Resolution Centre, this gives the seller some time to react, if the seller does not try to settle the issue then Ebay usually sends the cash back to your payment method and calls it a courteous refund.

I suspected that is what might happen - we shall see

I have another item too( musical ) that although not damaged , sounds nothing like the quality provided by seller sound samples of it at the time of listing .

    ugh

If the damage is noticeable and is not obvious in the listing picture or not mentioned in the listing,I suspect Ebay should refund you. It could be that the item was also damaged during postage - a box is not simply enough if not enough soft packing material also used. In that case,it is the seller's responsibility IIRC.

Regarding the musical item - I would contact the seller and see what they say first. Having looked at what happened to that Violin sale on Ebay, which was very sad,you might be OK there too.

he problem with the musical item is the seller does accept returns , but the cheapest I can see for shipping 1kg item 10 x 10 x 5 " is round £30 via inter parcel.. ( basically almost the price I paid in dollars )

Are there any cheaper options ?? ( the seller accepts postage paid returns but of course thats domestic shipping only )

Ebay ( US ) are offering to refund , but they dont seem to realise Im in the UK and cant send it back without paying more.

Ive tried looking for email / online chat but it just has the option to phone and nothing else. ( not ideal given my speech woes )

Any one have any suggestions ?

    did you pay with paypal?

Fortunately it is generally favoured towards the buyer so i would have thought you would be able to get a refund and return postage covered if the description wasnt clear.
