I didn't realise how fast these chaps are going

Honestly, and I'm not making this up - the TV footage makes it look SLOWER! when you feel the pressure wave in front of those machines when they're hurtling down the road at 200mph it's something else - that first bit of the video is just before the pub on Sulby Straight - they've been in top gear with the throttle pinned wide open for about a mile already by then.. 200+mph and you can hear it only take a few seconds for them to back off at Sulby Bridge, which is a about 3/4 of a mile away, allegedly slowing down to a mere 120mph to take almost right angle corner...... Awesome stuff.

The onboard shots with speed, gear and revs information are from a 600, so they're 'only' doing 175-ish. Superbikes are regularly knocking on the door of 200.
