the rest of the uni is just down the road
we will prolly see each other sometime because i always see all the uni people walking around
be warned their are a lot of chavs in pompey
unless you are in the building over the road from my school in which case youll be in old portsmouth a cool part of old portsmouth, without too many chavs
are you gonna be living in portsmouth or are you gonna take the train in?
cause i take the train in from petersfield
Kingston to do CS
i'll be at my second year at staffs doing computing science wow didnt know anyone else was going there
if its your first year i'd be more than happy to help you with any probs
Going to do forensic science at robert gordon in aberdeen
If the train could travel underwater then i'd take the train so no i'll have to live there since i don't live in the UKOriginally Posted by Pete
I HATE chavs, thanks for the heads up. Looks like I won't be going out much then
I'm in trafalgar halls, it's the big tall one which looks shiny, it was built in '02
yeh i think i know the halls your talking about
is it on or near a big junction? also theres a subway nearby
as for the chavs, they are damn abusive but complete pussys in the end
ive been punched once or twice but you should have seen the guy who did it....
hehe one tried to mug my mate, but he had a cricket bat on him so he got away ok
and they arnt as abusive to uni students mabye cause there all like 18
just watch out if you go near portsmouth harbour station thats were they all hang out
no worrys though , portsmouth is generally a nice place to live and there are alot of bars extremly close to were i think your gonna be living-working
also the guildhall is within five mins walking distance, a great venue for bands
so you should have a cool time there

I haven't got a clue as i've never actually been to my halls of residence.Originally Posted by Pete
You make it sound like it's something that happens all the time, please don't tell me this is what england is like.
I'll make sure i avoid that harbour then.
Bands are one of my main priorities but generally i won't be going out due to the crime over on your rock, scares the hell outta me.
so kezzer where you living at the mo?
dont worry to much bout the crime man
i feel safe walking around portsmouth, if your worried just make sure you always walk everywhere with one or two mates, because chavs will never attack people when there are more of you than them
when i got punched the first time it was because i was with my girlfriend and my mate walking home at 5 in the winter, it was dark and they were hiding around a corner, just ran out and punched me in the head, was quite funny and i got that bas**rd sent to juvenile for 6 months...or so i was told by the cops
second time was on the train home, lol they came in and me and my friend had a bit f a boxing match with them
dont be scared by what im saying here because they see you as a completly different person to me-i have my posh arsed blazer on and youll just blend in
so like i said no worries
youll love it im sure
The third thread I have posted this in, but:
Off in September to start my MEng in Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications at Southampton
Twigman
I'm from Guernsey. over here people can let their kids out at night, they can leave their doors unlocked and you're generally safe. There are the odd few who cause crime but they get caught all the time. This place is too small to get away with anything.
Me and Falcon2004 (who hasn't posted here for a while) are going to Swansea Institute to do Software Engineering.
