Tests Confirm Possible Existence Of Yeti

Astonishing claims were made in Russia today that DNA tests on suspected 'Yeti hair' reveals the existence of 'an unknown mammal closely related to man'.

The 'tests' were conducted on samples of hair found in a Siberian cave during an international expedition last year.

As far as I can see, the only sites that ran this story are the Daily Mail and the website you've linked to - which is enough to make me sceptical. It strikes me that it'd be pretty easy to run a story like this without citing any actual scientific evidence from a reputable source...

A sad day when I'm forced to put a Hexite on ignore, but the persistent drivel leaves me no choice.

Evidence doesnt mean much if the people looking a the evidence refuse to acknowledge it , thereby giving it the chance to be assessed properly without being hindered by their beliefs .

Jimmy Saville is living proof of that , and what people are prepared to see - or not see

If your skeptic who denies something is possible then how do you expect to learn if its not ( unless of course you are too arrogant to admit it , or are god )

As far as I can see they claim to have DNA tests that backup what their claiming , so if thats true then how can it be fake ?( unless theres some way to fake DNA tests - I dont know )

I personally find it interesting but then I like cryptology ,as Ive said before ,and unfortunately that sometimes come with a chance its not always 100% true given the amount of disinformation that exists in that enviroment.

If that offends you or causes you to have fit just follow Clints lead and block me - simple.

Really necessary, when it's so easy to just skip threads that don't interest you, like one does on a daily basis? mentioning no names

He could of just as easily put me on ignore but he wanted the publicity with it - that should tell you something.

Kinda of ironic too considering the point about my posts.

Only five papers covering it, https://www.google.com/news?ncl=dS6E...=English&hl=en

And I like TNT's title the best. Until there's peer review, assume it's down to a bit too much Absolut.

Bear in mind that a Hyrax is more closely related to elephants than other rodents... So saying it's a bit like a human and sort of, but not, like a monkey doesn't tell us anything.

Evidence is good; I've not seen any in this thread so far, just some hearsay via the Daily Wail and the like.

You can fake any test, DNA is no exception. More likely is that they have misinterpreted the test results and it's not a yeti at all, but something much more mundane.

If and when this is reported in a proper peer reviewed journal then I'll give it some credibility, until then it's just tabloid sensationalism.
