    Seems like a good system.

However call me a pessimist but these things will be in publicly accessible locations so I foresee a bunch of reports of people prying them open to steal what's inside.

It's a good idea, I wonder what the price will be after the end of January?

    No lockers near me.

    Re: Amazons new delivery options

The US has been doing parcels like this for years. It's fine for when you're out, but I can see it replacing door to door delivery in the future as it has over there in some places.

    Re: Amazons new delivery options

I just tried to search for my nearest locker by postcode and found that I can't search this way, I type in the name of my nearest lock and it will locate it for me though, but I didn't find that feature very helpful.

** edit ** just tried by town and that found 14 results.

    Re: Amazons new delivery options

They have been using a similar system for returns - which is pretty good.

    Re: Amazons new delivery options

Not bad at all, nearest one to the house across a toll tunnel though, but the collect+ shops seem to do it now and I have one nearby, will probably just get it delivered to work though as usual

    Re: Amazons new delivery options

Not bad really, if i know I am not going to be for a delivery then I can just get it sent to a box which is about a 5 - 10 minute walk from my house, cant complain about that really.

Just a shame it isnt free

why? most of what amazon sells is crap. if you wanted to rob people, why not wait outside an apple store or pc world or somewhere that sells items of value? we've had stores like that for decades and people haven't done it, knowing what kind of stuff people are buying, so why would they do it not knowing what people have? you don't get people waiting outside post office/courier/etc delivery pickup places to rob people, so why would they start now?

if you want to rob someone of brand new items of value, do it outside a jewellery store so you don't end up with a box of toys or womens shoes

i tend to stick to amazon and not 3rd part sellers for that reason, and as for theft from the box one would assume they are all in a location that has ample security & CCTV and will no doubt be for low value items ?

it tells you ther what you can have delivered. it seems to be about size and weight not value, so you could get an ipad or laptop delivered, so certainly items of value, not just 99p phone cases and tube sox

i'm sure they will have CCTV and stuff, but once you are outside there is little they can do, but the point is there hasn't been any cases of people doing that kind of robbery before, and if you were going to do it you would surely target somewhere selling high value items and little low value items. so do it at pc world and look for biggish items, and keep away from argos where something big could be a £10 toy or some bathroom or kitchen item of little worth but bulky

    Re: Amazons new delivery options

I've returned a few thing in the past using their similar return Collect+ / Paypoint scheme, very easy and cheap.

This from the FAQ, doesn't quantify very high value though.

Does an item in your order need specialist handling?

Items of very high value or those that require special handling need to be delivered to a home or business address.
