    For the girls...

...I just finished a radio show with a lovely lady who's the president of something called Springboard, a crisis home for girls, to get them back on their feet and give them what they need to make a life. She's been on the show before and even talked to a girl's group I know, and they all loved her.

It occurred to me that whilst her input into girls lives is invaluable, there might also be a lot to gain were she to talk with guys about their relationships and girls in general.

So I'll be setting something up in the near future.

Along those lines though it occurred to me to ask you Hexus ladies, what are some of the biggest, best, most significant things a guy, or guys, can do for you - whether a one time thing or something every day.

I don't just mean physical things - bringing, buying, or doing around the house - although they are valid, but also stuff about communication or commitment etc.

It might also be interesting to here about things beyond a romantic relationship - that is, what guys in general can do for girls in general.

Obviously this is a wide ranging subject, but I think it would be great for us guys to here some of the biggest, most significant things, especially those we might not hear often, or have the first clue about.
No trees were harmed in the creation of this message. However, many electrons were displaced and terribly inconvenienced.

I'm not fussed about physical gestures. To be told how much i mean to him and to just know how much he cares is enough, it's all i need. I like letters too. They just seem more personal than an email cos it's written with their own writing, just adds that little bit of extra meaning to it. Also surprise gestures, just small ones. Like my bf got me a teddy the day before i was coming home after staying with him for 5 weeks. That made me cry cos it was really sweet. I'm not into flowers or big overblown gestures, but a nice picnic in the park, or a quiet walk or something nice like that works on me.

But the biggest thing of all is communication. I have to be able to talk to him about anything and everything, and feel comfortable doing so. I dont need to feel like i should be someone else around him or try to be. And he should feel the same way. If you cant talk then you have nothing.

I'm trying to think what makes me love Phil so much but I can't, just knowing he loves me is everything to me. Not that it helps you Galant.

Little gestures are good, he brought me flowers the other week, has turned up unexpectedly and hidden in my bed! And last week I was very upset, and he told work he needed time off to come and see me, just cos I was upset. He lives 160 miles away.

Communication is essential. We tell each other things even if we know the other person may not like it. I respect him alot more for being honest with me about the thing I wear (he will tell me if my bum looks big in something, but then tells me its sexy anyway!) or about the way I react. Shame he's perfect or I could constructively criticise him too lol.

And holding me very very close for long periods of time.

And he just stopped and hugged me really tight and told me he loved me in the middle of the shopping centre the other day. That was good
