Re: North Korea sucessfully launches their first satellite into space

And instead of saying welcome to the space age, the US and Japan have condemned the launch as "a disguised test of long-range missile technology. "

(North Korea says a satellite has been placed in orbit; the US confirmed an object had been put into space.)

It's not a very "disguised test" when they were promoting it so heavily shouting "look at me I can launch something into space!"...

The thing is, NK is really a place that we should try and encourage to spend more on welfare of its citizens, less on weponary.

However, if its a threat in any way shape of form to the US, what the hell have they spent all their starwars money on. The my first rocket only just worked, if star wars can't deal with such a simplistic threat with high certainty, then I think a lot of people have been miss-sold.

As far as I'm aware Star Wars never came to fruition. What it did do was help bankrupt the Warsaw pact countries trying to keep up.

These day they'd use AEGIS which is sea based. That sort of system is designed to combat ballistic missiles with multiple warheads and decoys, something with the NK's can't possibly have.

But apparently can't keep it there. It's spiralling out of control.
