It was dark here this morning, heavy low cloud cover, but getting brighter now.
The darkest hour is just before dawn - but in summer, out on a hillside or on the bridge of a ship at sea, watching the darkness dispel as dawn approaches, and then the sunrise, is one of nature's truly uplifting experiences.
And tomorrow is the shortest day - days start getting longer from Saturday!

I will give 10p to ever member of Hexus if the world does end tomorrow...
It was.... neither dark nor bright this morning here. Cloudy, cold, raining a little and miserable. Thankfully not raining too much - I cycle in to my department but normally if it's raining I say 'forget that' (or words to that effect) and work from home til it dries up. Had a non-negotiable conference call at 9.30am this morning though, so had no choice but to get wet this morning!
You know what gets me these days? How dark it gets so early! I used to leave the office about 6pm and it would still be sunny. Now it's pitch black from 4.30pm onwards!
My brother is due to get married on Saturday and I'm the best man, haven't bothered with a speech though as I'm sure the rapture is coming tomorrow.
If it doesn't then at least I've got a good excuse!
It's been raining since April, hasn't it?
Bloody stuff, I wish it would have the common decency to turn to snow. Bah (and, indeed, humbug.)
Do any of you know Venusian by any chance ?
We might need it
