So how many others are there like me that still haven't finished their Christmas shopping?
I'm doing better than normal this year though, only have one more to go, my older brother(although, no idea what to get him!)

I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.
Got all mine done a while back, Been informed that the local shops have traffic police moving cars away as they are over crowded.
Most of my family are away abroad so don't have to spend hehe plus some of them I'm on bad terms as they have been terrible to me since my mum passed away.
I decided to book the week off work this year to give myself plenty of time to get sorted. I used to leave everything til the last minute but I'm much better these days lol.
Finished all ours yesterday
Done mine totally on-line for the last 5 or 6 years now, free delivery to your front door and 9 times out of 10 cheaper too.
Haven't finished, because I haven't started, because I don't do Christmas presents. Gave it up years ago.
No young kids here, and that's about the only reason I would buy presents. Everything else is simply commercial hype designed to get as many of us as possible to spend as much as possible, even when we don't have the money to spend, and all too often, all we end up with is getting, and giving, stuff nobody really wants anyway.
If there's a point to Christmas, it's about goodwill, and I don't see much evidence of it in the modern mania for presents, so I don't do it.
/Grinch out,
your not alone.. I hate it and new years day even more
greed , materialism and finding another excuse to drink again...
pot of course is banned ( one thing that can ease some of pain )
and friggin alcohol ( which does the opposite ) is ok despite heart disease being a bigger killer than cancer ( sic )

I totally agree with you there. i however have kids and its great to get them gifts, but they have got to much. Christmas is become too material and its taken away the real meaning. Its sad how people feel they must spend so much money, that they get themselves into debt to buy the latest gifts. I mean some toys are £50 for a lump of plastic that will last 3 month before its broken/missing pieces/forgot about.
The wife and i have decided that next year, we will go away as a family to a log cabin somewhere nice in Scotland and have out Christmas there. Have more of a family tradition with fun memories than material gain.
so if you all mean that..why don't you actually do it?
I'll tell you - cos the Log Cabin will cost 20 times more for Christmas week
Material Gain for the win
