    Exclamation Didn't even need to sign up for broadband...

    Playing around with some test wifi kit and "NETGEAR" is happily broadcasting itself to all and sundry somewhere near me...

    No encryption of any kind.
    DHCP server dishes out an IP address to any MAC that bothers to ask for one.
    Default admin accout and password for web interface.
    Grants unrestricted Internet access via a 10Mbps connection.

    There is a PC connected on that WLAN, thankfully it has no file sharing enabled, but I'm tempted to do a port scan and see if the Messenger service is running to scare them

    I used to have one that must have bene in the same flats as where i live - i had my own connection and would go wifi on theires to do anything dodgy i wanted to do.

    very usefull.

    Only problem is they only turn it on every now and then now......shame

    Having -cough- seen the results of a wardrive, the figures were something like 290 APs found, 89 unsecure, 12 at default settings....
    Now go away before I taunt you a second time.
