    Tesco Horsemeat Burgers ??

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-21038521

Horse and pork meat in tesco burgers apparently !

Sky News said "The tests found horse DNA in the following products: Tesco Everyday Value Beef Burgers 29.1%, Tesco Beef Quarter Pounders 0.1%, Oakhurst Beef Burgers in Aldi 0.3%, Moordale Quarter Pounders in Lidl 0.1%, Flamehouse Chargrilled Quarter Pounders in Dunnes Stores 0.1%, and two varieties of Iceland Quarter Pounders 0.1%."

    Re: Tesco Horsemeat Burgers ??

Who gives a crap!? The news is apparently blowing this out of all proportion.

The only thing here is that the food wasn't what it said it was on the label. The way they keep saying zomfg you ate horse meat on the news this morning was driving me mad.

    Re: Tesco Horsemeat Burgers ??

I'd buy horse burger if they sold horse burger.

The issue here is meat marked as beef not being beef - which begs the question of what other surprises are in Tesco's meat supply chain.

    Re: Tesco Horsemeat Burgers ??

I'm still getting over the shock. Tesco value burgers contain at least 29.1% meat. Who'd have guessed it!

in all honesty, I couldnt care less so long as the food still tastes good. Meat is meat.

This. This is a big deal,as from what I gather it seems the factory is denying they have put horse meat in the burgers, and pointing the finger at some of the distributors. I somewhat hope it is the factory doing it,not the distributor, because otherwise where did the burgers come from??

    Re: Tesco Horsemeat Burgers ??

From the sounds of the Tesco ones, its deliberate cost saving, and hence profit making, on the behalf of the supplier, the rest could be mistakes, some sort of "generic meat filler" they were using, or at worst contaminant left over from insufficient cleaning.

They gave me polenta with meat in it , and it was only after I ate I found it was out MOOSE

They had rabbit there too head and all still on it in the butchers skinned like is been sucked dry by a vampire , with the butcher chopped in half and sold to us...

I went to the fridge to get some burgers... and they're off!

Seriously, I agree with what's been said here; it's more of a labelling problem.

Think this is pretty bad, I mean while I've no desire to eat horse, that isn't the issue here, for me it's the fact you're buying a beef burger and not getting beef.
