Just started my 4th week and its going well, was in pub twice yesterday (only coke drinking mind), but wasn't tempted at all.

At the moment (its probably just a passing phase) I really don't want a cig.

I swam a mile on friday and played for 90 minutes yesterday (god damn my legs hurt). But fitness wise I felt great, easy breathing etc.

Basically feeling pretty good, shame its monday and I gotta work all week.

    Well done Dan,

I’m the same I really don’t want one at the mo, I went to the pub last night with my lady, and was fine, I also cracked up 34 miles on mountain bike, my legs ache bad today! But my breathing was perfect! I best my personal bests on times and speeds, and I put that down to having more puff!

I’m out on Friday night with a big group and will be having a small amount of drink, this could be a problem, but apart from that I’m cruising

I think you will find that after a while you will have a very strong urge to have a ciggy, I know I did, and it is very hard to resist but if you can then I would say that you are 75% towards beating the dreaded weed.

So be aware and DONT give in to it as the benefits far outweigh the pleasures of smoking.(if you can call it a pleasure)

I dont want to disapoint you but in my case (bear in mind that smoked 80 a day) it took about 3 years before I could honestly say it was out of my system so in your case it could be more or less, I think it depends on your own mental attitude towards the problem, the stronger you are the quicker the result.

My personal side effect that I put on weight so watch out!!!

Good on anyone who can give up..Ive tried before but found it impossible so I always return to them...did smoke between 20 and 30 js a day for 3 years and cigs since I was 12 so its not that easy...especially when you go out and with others who are smoking away, so annoying.

well the weight this is not an issue as i have given up for 17 or 18 days now and have failed only once to exercise on each of those days to combat the problem, i have now lost weight since i quit. you just have to think ahead i guess

Well, I guess that you want something to substitute something in your life now that you've given up smoking. And that you miss your family seems to be like a very human thought, I mean when I feel low sometimes..all I want is my mother to stay near me. So it might be that, I'm not an expert, it's just my guess.
Yes, it needs to be done, not only for you but for your girl and future family etc. And I know that you're aware of that, the only thing I can do for you is to back you up over hexus. But that isn't the best always, sometimes you need the comfort from someone irl so I suggest that you talk to somone close to you a friend or something. And if you feel you need to be near your family, then call them, I can promise that they'll love hearing from you.

Good luck mate! , and I believe you can do this and so does a lot of other people!

Hm, about me..well, not that good..but I'm trying to survive. But how I feel isn't important now..you are.

Well with the money I have saved from smoking I just bought a 6800gt and a remote control car

Ok not quite, I bought those but not with the money I saved

In saying that I am noticing a big difference in the money outgoings, maybe £20 a week (which is about right for the amount I was smoking).
