Bang to rights, or more shenanigans from the Catholic Church?

It would seem it was a case of the following:

Cardinal: Whatevs these people are saying about me, it ain't true, no way, and you can't even prove it.

Papers: We have these four people willing to testifiy.

Cardinal: Oh that. Yeah, that was me.

On a serious note though, it would seem he was previously a fairly liberal priest, and was promoted to Cardinal on the condition he took a more 'traditional' view on matters as pertains to doctrine. Cue loads of rants about homosexuality, etc. Then the other week he states that he thinks priests should be able to marry and have children. Shortly afterwards, accusations appear.

It seems you only get away with sexual wrongness if you stick to the party line...
