Would people stop describing things as "sick".
What the hell is happening to the standard of English ?
Gotta say im guilty of this occaisionally, i admit i have a problem
there are certain words that annoy me aswell
minging being one of them
why do people (normally women in my experience) say that
other ones that annoy me are when people walk up to you and say "safe/sound/blade/brethren" or a mix of all 4![]()
Strange one that, its lads round here that use the word minger/minging mostly to describe girls...

I've never heard anyone other than on tv describe something as "sick" (except for it's normal use)......must be a southern thing
What annoys me is when people use 'memory' to explain hard disk space. Or the misconception of Megabytes and Mebibytes (No, I don't like them either but we're supposed to use them now). Or Megabits (Kilobits, bits) and Megabytes, kilobytes and bytes. Its hard explaining you can still transfer a 10GB file over a 100Mb/s network.
There's also many others. Here's some which I had whilst an IT support:
'My arrows stuck' - Mouse pointer not moving
'My screens wonky' - The actual monitor was half resting on a book!
'My PCs not working' - It was, monitor was just off
If the Earth is a sphere how do you travel to the ends of it?
I too think all these new variations of the English language are stupid.
"Proper bo" sounds so much dafter than just "excellent" or something.
And why say silly stuff like "safe bredren (which is infact a mis pronounciation of brethren, silly townies) when you can just say "hi mate"

I've moved to Stoke.
In Stoke somebody stole every dictionary and removed the word "To".
So, I get Stokeys spouting this crap at me...
I'm going Hanely
I'm going Pub
And all the time:
I'm going MAD.
BTW: My Gf does it....and if I correct her....I get it in the neck for half an hour for speaking down to her!!!
DAMN STOKE GRAMMAR.
"Wicked" "Bad"![]()
why why why why ???
The only thing that really annoys me in this kind of category is the way people spell the word "tongue" as "tounge". It's wrong! You're dumb!
Getting really annoyed with people using the saying "fair play" when it makes FA sence. "Safe" is also another word which is also gettin on my nerves.
you guys have too little to worry about!
what annoys me the most is when newsreaders mispronounce the word police. they miss out the O, so it sounds like pleese... really gets on my tits. other than that, stuff like "what u chattin about", meaning "what are you saying" is kinda ironic, as what they are saying doesnt really make any sense anyway. It is however inadvisable to tell these people that, as their comebacks are neither humorous, nor verbal
