    Samsung v200

Hi, hope this is ok in G.D. I’m looking at changing my phone and just wanted to ask if anyone here has/knows someone with a Samsung v200 and could tell me what it is like? I’m chiefly concerned with how quick the phone software is, especially the predictive text as I find my T68 a little slow.

If you think another phone is better than the v200 please let me know.

    Thanks, Anders.

Best display on any phone currently available. Likewise the camera. Menu interface a little fiddly but not a concern. Battery life not that great quoted figures are 'adjusted'. Excellent phone tho- just a shame about the poly ringtones

Excellent screen, and fairly good camera.
T9 - isnt a huge difference between it and the T68i - athough i would say it had that little more of an edge over it
Menus are fairly easy once you have used it a few times.

i have one, my one gripe with it is (apart from me standing on it when i got out of bed the other day and cracking the outer LCD) is that with my old t68i you could save words like "bak, cum, iono" etc. and the v200 wont. which is silly as it requires hardly any space to do so, and you can have god knows how many pictures, i had 50ish after my holiday and i could still take more.

    Go buy one now!!

Thanks for info sounds like an excellent phone then. What your saying Russ is that you cannot add words to the T9 dictionary? If so that is really a killer against this phone because I text soo much. Also I looked at one in the shop and it is actually quite large, it’s pretty wide, and the big aerial makes it tall.

Anyone got any knowledge on the T610? I like this phone, small, camera, and bluetooth (the v200 doesn’t have bluetooth does it?). Yeah the battery life of the v200 shown in the shop about a third of the T610? Also T610 is £70 cheaper for some reason on the contract I’m looking at.

    hi mate,

I've got the v200. I won it in a competition SIM free from Microsoft!! (They are good for some things afterall)!

I got it before it was released in the shops, so I have the first software.

All I can say is that it's bloody fantastic mate!

Like said before, the screen can display bright vibrant colours and can show this off with the good quality photo's it can take.

The ringtones arent to my taste, but I've downloaded my own so thats nothing to worry about.

The box contains 2 batteries (1 slimline, 1 normal) I use the slimline, but the normal one would last approx 5 days+. The slimline about 3-4days. Normally I would just leave it on charge overnight for the morning.

It also comes with EasyGPRS and another CD. It enables you to connect your phone to your PC (Via the data cable provided) and send / edit / browse messages, even call etc on your phone, using your PC.

I think it's the best POCKET sized phone outthere. The clamshell design protects the screen from scratches, and theres little touches on the inside and outside of the phone that make it a market leader atm.

Well, theres my advice! If it's worth anything! lol

So no one got or knows anyone with a T610? I really want to get my phone soon, so any info on this phone would be very appreciated.

Also what about this not being able to add words to v200 dictionary, do I understand this correctly?

    Thanks

    Altho u can save 'templates'.

This means that when ur writing a msg you can goto templates, and insert it. Theres about 8 spaces.

Altho I find it easy enough to enter words using T9 which are not in the dictionary......
