Well today went well honest
I first slept in till 1pm due to sleeping problems - so nevermind.
I had to goto the bank to pay in some cheques and argue with the bank manager about some things
Anyway I went to Armari - www.armari.co.uk this afternoon with Directhex to collect a new server we are deploying on Friday. On the way we decided to check my mail via the laptop and cell - we saw 111 mails (in an hour thats a lot even for me!) so I said "bet the forums are dead" sure enough they were.
We didnt know the problem due to it being mysql connects - so we tried to hack the MySQL config to fix it - and it didnt work, we did some other things.
Anyway we called Phil - at LCHost.co.uk who is a good friend of mine, he looked in to it and found the problems; due to the fact we are doing the server stuff this friday we had to do some data shifting - this was all done quickly, and he restored the backup.
After this we hit Armari and saw their cray computers (which were really cool; and grabed the new box).
We ended up meeting up with Paul Dutton and Mike Magee for a few drinks and food - both from theInquirer. Paul parked his car at his house and I drove us all in to the city. This was all fine until we had to find somewhere to park "fear not I thought; a side street with messen" so we parked there.
At 11:30 we got booted out of the pub, with Paul and Mike going to get the tube, we got to the car to find a parking ticket for 50 quid - today has proven expensive!
So, anyone fancy paying my parking ticket?
