I'll be honest, unless you feel uncomfortable generally talking to people on the phone etc. She might not be the lady for you.

I've had girls who could keep me amused for hours, and ships that sailed in the night.

Communication is often said to be the most important thing in a relationship* if you can't do it in a relaxed easy going fashion, everything else will be doomed.

Corny advice it may be, but be yourself. What things would you normally talk about with your friends. Right now I'm trying to sell the idea that the time I spent cutting out and carefully sorting my GoPro accessories into a flight case is a good thing, worthy of praise.


*obviously they haven't discovered the noble French arts.

I'm not sure I understand the question. For what purpose did you call her? 'I'm going to be late home for dinner', 'Can you come and pick me up from the pub?'. These are pretty straight forward things. Add hello and goodbye and you're pretty much there. Am I miss-understanding?

I think hes worried that her lack of , " enthusiasm " is a sign shes gone off him , finds him intolerable , boring, physically inept etc etc

If that is the case ,then my question would be to ask what she was like before ?

Why is she doesn't seem to care about your lack of communication as much you ?

blokes never do. im 36 and im not so sure. our kid told me that it wasn't that his mrs was told she might never get one, that he knew he wanted one. so have a proper think about it before too long.

In all seriousness, Cosmo doesn't run your relationship. You don't have to spend hours talking on the phone if neither of you want to. My SO lives six hours away. We've probably talked on the phone less than a dozen times in the last year. We text, which is painful for me as I lack the thumbs of a hyperactive eight-year-old, but all the kids are doing it these days, and since she is in her early 20s it's something I am prepared to put up with.

Point is, don't try to force your relationship in a certain direction just because Cosmo says it should. Say what you want, communicate how you want.

I have seen this little trick before when someone wants to get out of something or is unhappy and purposely acts indifferent or nonchalant to to the point t where the other person starts wondering / making assumptions . Eventually those assumptions become suspicions and then anger leading to the inevitable split.

Why does it happen ?

Either shes testing you , or is trying to throw you some subtle hints through her lack of enthusiasm / interest , probably because shes too uncomfortable about breaking up herself , so she wants you too - hence the reason shes projecting on you, so you feel as miserable as she does..

Either way you should address it or ask if shes unhappy , and why ?

( I assuming she was not always this way or you would not be questioning it now )

If shes still doing this and denying anything is wrong , then either something is REALLY wrong or she is a vampire , and you need to drive a stake through the wretched creatures heart.

If she is vampire / headplayer you will should already know by now any way by simply feeling drained all the time ,or jerked around ( pulled in / pushed away ) so my other suggestion is to do just that ( mimic her behavior )and wait and see happens...

If she truly cares, she will notice it and respond If not you just learned a valuable lesson and saved yourself some misery.

Bearing in mind that you shouldn't ask a question unless you really want to know the answer, even if it isn't the one you expected or hoped for, or has unexpected consequences.
