    Gmail file attachments

Ok so gmail has forced me to use their new look inbox, but now I can't attach files for some reason. I have tried to add as an attachment a excel file thats 31KB. Can't see anythign obvious in the options, and I have done the normal clear cache etc.

Has anyone else had issue with attaching files in gmail?

Using win7, and up to date firefox.

edit: Just used ie and it worked :| Could anyone with firefox up to date try and add an attachment, and see what happens?

Another update: After clicking the retry button over and over it attached. Is this a gmail issue or firefox?

Worked first time for me, Compose, Paperclip, wait for upload.

Might be a firefox addon thing, or just bad luck.

Hope there's nothing interesting in the file seeing as they crawl all over our emails.

    Re: Gmail file attachments

I have just noticed that when I log into gmail, a pop up block bar appears but then disappears. I assume firefox think google is re-directing me, but infact is just loading the main gmail site? is there a way to check what pop up firefox was blocking? As it disappears too fast. All I know is that its blocks something which as I say I think is the gmail site, maybe firefox thinks its a redirect. And I have turned it off to see if the attachment thing works, no luck!

Try a different browser and check if it is a Firefox only problem

Its ok in IE but not in firefox unless i keep clicking retry. Would think its a firefox issue but so far don't know anyone using firefox who has the issue.

    Can't say I'm surprised

The only friend I have who's currently working as an out-and-out tech swears by IE10 - first time I've ever heard a proper tech recommend IE of any form. And I'm pretty sure it's the latest version of FF that's messing up my step-son's graphics card (to some extent, at least). Since it looks like FF is definitely your problem, I'd just give it the boot and use IE or Chrome, tbh.

    +1 for this.

I used to use Firefox myself but Chrome is much better and I've had less overall trouble with it.

I've not tried the latest IE properly yet, but from what I've heard so far, I may well be switching my browsers again

    Re: Gmail file attachments

Another odd issue now as well...... just went to youtube and a little bar drops from the top "firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page". What the hell is all that about? Starting to get a little concerned, but kaspersky has reported everything is ok.

    Re: Gmail file attachments

Seems like firefox is stopping you reloading hence you do not see attachment till you reload the pages. It is accessibility option according to this:

I thought it was some safety option, guess not.
