    Anyone in Manchester

    Guys ...

Anyone else hear a loud bang @ about 6-30 to 7 am this morning?

I was sleeping @ that time, but the noise was very loud indeed ( similar to the noise of someone jumping off a bunk bed onto a wooden floor.

I've heard that there was a sketchy news report about an explosion and a 5 mile cordon but no more information as yet.

    ahh cheers

I'm not going crazy after all.

It was a HUGE bang - so loud I nearly deposited the digested remains of last nights becks and curry night all over my duvet, I thought that some1 had crashed into the house or used TNT to remove one of the doors.

Weird how theirs no reports on the BBC website as yet, but I expect it will all come to light in the next few days as to what it was.

    cheers for that

edit : found the story here as well - http://www.manchesteronline.co.uk/ne...cks_homes.html

    haaa haaa :-p

Now people are reporting "lights" and stuff seen in the sky around that time.

All you folks running SETI for years haven't got much, today us Mancunians got a wakeup call by ET himself @ 7.20 am

Or, (pushing the boat out a bit here), a sonic boom

Those fighter pilots probably thought an early morning wake up call would be funny.

More reasonable than ball lightning or aliens. Plus I read about ball lightning being caused by seismic activity and there was none (earthlights).

Sorry for being boring, the fighter pilot must have been chasing E.T
