Seems deceptively quiet atm. Only dramatic thing to happen here so far is a hefty chunk of metal sprung hinge spontaneously dropped off my loft hatch & did some sort of ricochet, I happened not be underneath but heard a sequence of clunks & reboundings.
That would have been just terrific - brained indoors, on the day of the biggest storm in years.

Isle of Wight - been lashing it down for the last 36 hours with heavy gusts of wind. Forecast show the winds easing off and the rain all but stopping completely over the next 12 hours.
So, to summarise, its raining and windy. There ain't no big-ass storm.
I am disappoint.

theres at least 4 houses within a block with scaffolding up, all having their roofs done. next door doesn't have any gutters on or fascia boards (they're laying on top of the scaffolding)
should be fun trying to clean up all the carnage if the winds hit here
last big storm round here was when we were having our roof done, didn't have the dormer roofs on then. had to rip out 3 ceilings from the rooms below due to the loft flooding, oh happy days.
otherwise - twas a bit windy midday ish, rain last night, not much else.
A lot of wind and rain last night, quite calm and sunny today, but it is now raining heavily and the wind is building up.. There was a very small brownout earlier, but nothing since.
However, I've redeployed my UPS to the TV, radio etc, and I have a small (4KVA) generator ready to power fridge, freezer, central heating pump, central heating boiler controls and the UPS just in case we do have a power cuts.

So far, nothing much here. Gusty winds and some rain, but nothing exceptional.
But, as I understand it, it's not due to have arrived yet.

Woke up to heavy rain and wind around 3 AM in the South West then went back to sleep. Awake now, very windy here with light rain.
