Well spotted! A number of pictures on that site looks just like it is 'smoke' on the foreground. One of the more puzzling thing is how do the 'orbs' come about...

easiest way people do this is make a filter for their camera lense that has been sprayed with salty water. The water has evaporated leaving circles of salt behind

If its a normal 35mm film, overlapping can occur when the film is developed causing 'ghost' effects (one print takes onto another already taken) , either that or the film is old.
Man, I'm so naive when it comes to photographic trick...
