    Ahhh... Saturday Night!

And I hope every other Hexite has had a good one?

If so please add the details below.

Personally Ive been for a girlie drinking session round a friend's house and really should be banned from posting under the influence - however Im sure many people are relieved that I actually have restrained from being the drunken lunatic text message/phone caller at this hour and am instead posting on a somewhat quiet forum!

Good Night Hexus - I look forward to finding out what everyone else was up to when I awake in the morning!!

Oh poop, just realised Im supposed to be at work for 12 o'clock!!

The Scandinavians know how to have a good time, that has to be said...

An Icelandic guy at work was married & had his honeymoon in Bali & Singapore a month or so ago, and last night they had a few of us over for a get-together at 8pm.
We arrive to cocktails - strawberry daquiris and margaritas - then when there were about 11 of us, the Mexican dips, chips, wraps & nibbly things came out and we sat talking, listening to the Icelandic version of the Beasty Boys and watching video clips from various comedy shows.
Quite a mix of nationalities there - me, an Australian, a couple of Danes, a Norwegian, the Icelandic couple, a Ugandan and a few Swedes.

There was a tequila slammer incident too, even though I'd sworn to myself I'd not touch that evil drink ever again years ago...

By around 1:30am 3 people had left and the Australian/Swede couple were saying that they really should head back home soon as she had to be at work for 8am and it was a 90 minute drive back.

So by this I'm assuming it's starting to wind down and people will be getting taxis home, and true enough a taxi is ordered... to take us to a club in town at nearly 2am.
6 of us went to "Fasching", a jazz club that has a soul night on Thursdays and saturdays - and it was heaving with people, we even had to queue to get in briefly at that time!

We stayed until the lights came up, at around 4:30am - I am not kidding when I say the contrast in clubs in Sweden is greatly different to the ones I have been to in the UK.
When the music is on, virtually everyone is dancing all the time.
Anywhere. Very common to see people standing on the chairs, benches or tables dancing away merrily - and so strange to see an entire building of people dancing rather than a tiny square dedicated to it surrounded by mostly "watchers"

I was home and in bed at around 5am, and I reflected that I've not had quite so much fun since I was a student at uni about 10 years ago.
Swedes really do know how to enjoy themselves.

Apparently over the years as the opening hours of the clubs got longer and longer, people just moved their "going out time" back, so it's very common to gather at one house for drinks and then go out between 11pm and 2am.
~ I have CDO. It's like OCD except the letters are in alphabetical order, as they should be. ~

Well.. Last night we went out for dinner - by way of making up for draggin Lynni round every airshow & attached museums that went on this year.. Really nice place - Scott's Bistro, in town. I steeled meself for a rather hefty bill before we went.. but fortune was smiling on us.. as the waiter took our order he caught Lynni's glass of coke with his shirt cuff and the whole thing emptied into her lap.... with the result that a) we got moved to a better table b) got our meals quicker c) got free drinks for the whole evening (his comment was "These are on me, because the coke was on her..." ) and d) we didn't pay for dessert either

So all in all a VERY nice dinner for not a lot of dosh which was nice.....
