I really want it to be awesome but I have a sickly feeling its going to be a bit cynical and cash grabby..
its a stage show not for the tv and if I was cynical I would say it was related to

It wasn't funny the first time round. Divorce recovery fund is the holy grail I think.
I suppose it's a marmite-type thing.
You don't really think that dead parrot lark was funny?
The humour did have its moments (what have the Romans ever done for us) but any series running for that time was bound to get lucky sooner or later.
Billy Connolly has made me cry with laughter; the pythons have never come near that.
"Is this the Popular Judean Front?"
"NO! This is the People's Front of Judea... the Popular Front is over there SPLITTERS!!!"

Half the Python repertoire is so iconic, I can do and have done just that!

The ticketing for the event was just a joke though. It was very poorly done and it did not help that many websites massively bumped up prices too and loads of tickets were also bought by touts.
Monty Python managed to piss off as many fans as they might have made happy.
Edit!!
On the flip side at least I am not contributing to this:

Given that the tickets sold out in less than 1minute, it definitely was a joke.
Im fairly sure those were all reselling, or pre-ordering, sites grabbing the lot, no human could manage to order that fast.
Ticketmaster "suggested" I might like to buy a ticket from some other site that wanted £300.
Fetch... the comfy chair!
Much to my surprise I managed to get tickets for the first (and at the time I bought them, only) night. I went onto the O2 website about 9:55, joined the waiting room and a few seconds after 10:00 I was given a choice of tickets. A minute or two later I'd checked out and received the email confirmation.
It wasn't until later that I heard how quickly the tickets sold out.
