    Angry *VENT ALERT* Targus=

    Terribly
    Amateurish
    Retailer,
    Grossly
    Unreliable
    Service

So like a few other companies, we've been hit by the Dell laptop power supply recall. Dell'll replace them free, but I decided for some of our higher priority bods that I'd get 3rd party adapters to get them going. I immediately thought "Targus" - high profile accessories brand, reasonable quality, sensible choice (I thought). So, I go to their UK online store, find the right adapters, and check that they're listed as being in stock. I then order a few and pay for next day delivery via company CC (someone else's company cc, I hasten to add). Order placed 14th this month. Nothing further. 5 Days later I get an "order in process" notification telling me "The product(s) you've ordered is(are) still in process and will ship shortly.". "WTF?" Thinks I - what happened to "In Stock" and "next day"? I respond as follows:

When I placed the order for these adapters, they were shown as being in stock. I paid for next day delivery; now I'm being told they will ship "shortly". When, please?
    The response?

As far as I know, nothing has been sent. In our department we do not have access to information related to deliveries.
And today, some 13 days after the order was placed, I receive:

The answer given to us by Targus is that the product will be in stock
in about a week. As soon as it has been received, it will be shipped to you.
This is from "techuk@targus.com", so what's all this about "The answer given to us by Targus..." crap? The mail is FROM Targus.

    To which I respond:

This is wholly unsatisfactory; I checked the site _before_ I placed the order. The power adapters that I ordered were listed as being "In Stock". On that basis I paid for next day delivery. Now you're telling me that we _might_ get them shipped out in "about" a week. Is this meant to be some sort of joke that I just haven't got yet?

This is unacceptable; if the adapters weren't in stock, they shouldn't have been listed as in stock. If I'd known they weren't available I wouldn't have paid extra for next day delivery, and I might well have sourced them from another retailer. As it is, I will have to consider very carefully not only whether I ever order from Targus' online store again, but whether I purchase Targus products from any other reseller for the Group.
I'm FUMING! These idiots really do take the cake.

I'd say cancel, if they take that long they don't server your custom.

Already spoken to them, but they're quoting availability of 2 weeks, and we're getting replacements off them as well as the Targus ones; it's just that the Targus units should have been here a lot quicker.

Key words, Should have been, I would just say cancel the order with Targus and wait it out. You never know, the Dell ones might come through first.

Same thing happened to me with OCUK which was extremely annoying since the order was for an entire system that I needed ASAP. Thankfully it was only 4 days late...but that was like a whole weeked and a couple of days without a PC O.o
