Is this a dodgy Nigerian on Ebay?

Right I just sold a phone on ebay (nice Sagem MYX-7!)
But the winning bidder was some newbie who had just signed up today.

Then I just got this email:

    from: blissy_50@localstreet.com

    Hello,
i want to make an immediate purchase of this item at 100 pounds to my fiancee in nigeria for his birthday coming up soonest since i will not be able to be present there so i want to know if i can make the payment via western union money order bidpay in which the money will be brought to your given address for the payment after you might have recieved the payment confirmation notification through email.

So let me have your full name and address including the total amount of the item and shipping cost to nigeria via FEDEX or UPS or REGISTERED ROYALMAIL so that i can make the payment.

let me know if i should go ahead with the payment.
here is the shipping information of my fiancee in nigeria:

    segun ogundiran
3 eyiowuawi street off oyemekun road
    ifako ijaye
    lagos
    234001
    nigeria

    Get back to me ASAP.
Now here's the evidence that points to a scam:
    1. Person just joined up today
    2. Wants to send it to Nigeria (some very dodgy people there)
    3. Wants to pay by western union (even says in every ebay email - dont deal with these kind of money transfers)

Don't really understand what this person is trying to say, but I ain't sending no phone to Nigeria!

I have already sent a reply saying I will only post to within the Uk and only accept bank transfer, paypal and cheque as payment (as stated on my auction)

Should I contact ebay if they don't get back to me?

Never accept or send money to western union, it should ring alarm bells straight away.

the fact these types slip through screams out to me how insecure ebay really is...
anyone see watchdoy the otehr night? how ebay holds no accountability at auctions gone wrong and take no notice what so ever when cock-ups happen?...the thing I hate about it is in order to actually sign-up you have to give them your card details!! who else asks for those unless you're actually paying e.g. after chosing items at amazon or something...

The other side to the scam is the seller receiving a cheque for well in excess of final fee, with a polite request that you send the 'change' to another bank account. There's usually some sort of sob story covering the size of the cheque. They usually take the p out of the central clearing system so the cheque takes slightly longer to bounce than normal.

    A) A highly insecure method of payment, regularly used by scammers because there's virtually nothing the victim can do about it

    B) Because that's where they live, or where the stash is held before being flogged on the black market..
