    Vintage port

Over xmas my parents were clearing out their cupboards and gave me a bottle of port that was collecting dust. On further examination and googling it turns out that they have given me a Niepoort 1977 vintage -

Not being a massive drinker, but enjoying port from time to time i am pleasantly surprised at having a sought after bottle. However i probably would not appreciate it. Does anyone know of somewhere i could sell it?

I've got a couple of cases of Taylors 94 and was advised by a nice chap at Berry Bros and Rudd to take a look at Decanter magazine, there's people that will broker sales that advertise there.

Don't know about selling the port but I'll happily buy your parents if they have stuff like that lying around

    Re: Vintage port

Except for some antique clocks and a few bottles of dodgy (wicker wrapped??) chianti from the 90's i think they are all out of 'finds'!

edit - further rummaging in the box i have just found a bottle of Kagor dessert wine from Moldova!

    Re: Vintage port

Doubt you'll get more than £25 for it as a private unknown seller with one bottle to shift - so might as well enjoy it yourself. Being alcohol all sorts of rules are going to get in your way trying to resell casually.

Quite shocking how much some people will spend on prestige booze at the New year. I was in the local wine merchants buying a couple of bottles of Douro at £13 a pop to see the new year in. Lots of middle aged blokes in buying multiple cases of champagne at ranging £50 to £85 a bottle. Most people don't even like the stuff.
