    The US Election

Simple really. Who'd you vote for and why?
If a mod could make this a poll I'd be grateful. I'd go Kerry, and while I could write a fair bit about what I think would make him a good president I'd be here until the next election in 2008 if I were to go on about my feelings about Bush.

Kerry. But I really wish the Democrats had found a decent candidate.

It's kind of unfortunate that we on Hexus don't get to choose the president of the US. Thats left to Texans who believe the war in Iraq is a holy crusade. Actually, I wonder if they will be allowing black people to vote this year?

It doesn't come down to Texans really, nor Californians nor Capitol dwellers. The key states as last time will be Florida, Ohio, New Mexio, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania with Florida really the one to watch, all due to the way the Electoral College system works. You think we've got it bad here with our few hundred constituencies meaning if you live somewhere like Kensington or Henley there's no point in voting unless you're Tory... well California alone is over 30 million people and winner takes all in terms of vote there... 55 electoral colleges, no matter whether the margin was one person or the 30 million.

    Both are stupid idiots.

Id vote kerry. I hate them both, there equally pathetic, however bush is by far more annoying, with his accent, pauses between speachs (which somehow always seem to invade british media, esp radio4 which my dad has it ona lot), and just making me want to shout DIE IN THE FACE.

What I really hate more than anything, about americans is patriotism, a close second is there psudo freedoms what they always boast about... There all proud to be stupid, and this is what most of there election campains are about.
Patriotism doesnt mean doing whats right, it means blindly following your idiot president, supporting him all the way, just becuase there too big headed and stupid to understand whats really happenening, and an example of that is Iraq.

That is interesting... According to that poll, French people hate Bush more than anyone else. And Kerry gets 88% of the vote worldwide and 75% in the US. Although Niger supports 4 more years.

Do you really think voting for either one or the other will change how the country is run? Don't these guys only ever say what you wanna hear? I think politics is a load of old baloney IMHO.
