I don't think anyone in the mod team would object to occasional links to other forums - we're not so naive/arrogant as to think that Hexus is the only forum with interesting discussions in it (although we'd like to think we have the best discussions ). If someone comes to Hexus and appears to be deliberately trying to drive traffic to another site at the expense of Hexus, we might step in, but just linking to other forums to highlight or support a point is fine.

At least, it is as far as I'm concerned - other mods may have their own opinions. We're all individuals, after all

We don't object to linking to other forums or websites provided it is context to the post - in fact citing or linking back to an original source can be very helpful to other readers.

We DO object to linking purely to advertise a site in which you might have a financial or commercial interest, either to advertise a service you offer, or to drive traffic to a site where you have advertising. (If in doubt, ask us first!)

And we definitely don't like spamvertising!
