you just wait till you actually have to talk to, and meet the people, people in belfast are like dangerous monkeys in a zoo, honeslty they are soo rude, look out for all the painted kerbstones and wall murals with guns and killing phrases

Saw them mate... (Back home now). Had a friend show us round. Being in England we only see what the media let us. I was interested to see for myself.
He took us to a little pub in the middle of nowhere, between Belfast and Newcastle, where 11 people were killed. He explained how they just walked in and opened fire . It shook me to the bone! How you could just be sat enjoying a pint, then boom. Really brought home what the 'troubles' entailed, not just the sanitised version we get from the BBC. While it might not be high on a tourists list, I had to see for myself. While I still do not fully understand the history, I at least have a feel of what people have lived through.
Wha he said ^^^ i could tell you a few stories that are worse than that one, there were many things that the media never got wind of, my dad worked with the army constructing baracades and barracks, and some of the stories he told me were somethig youd expect from 'battlefield desert combat' or something, but its all in the past now
