    How to become a mod

I'm just curious (always wondered really), but how do you get to be a mod?

Are you just destined to be that way, or were are you carefully selected from the existing mods? Do you have to ask them or do they ask you?

It's not that I want to be a mod or anything (probably wouldn't turn it down though), just curious really .

    No - I didn't think you'd ask.

P.S. In this thread, I'm not asking without actually asking - I'd just like to know .

there there pyle... i suppose you could be made 'honourary ghost-mod' if that makes you feel better. meaning you're a mod of sorts - you float in and out of the forums adding to the atmosphere but being unable to dramatically affect the whole process of the forums...so you're a mod, but not.

There's a general unspoken rule: if you ask to become a mod in any way, you don't get to become one.

    1) He asks? I got TOLD!
    2) Hah! If they'd known then what they know now, I'd have been IP banned....
    3) Yes, true... bit like New Years Honours and Labour Party 'donations'...
    4) See 1

And in seriousness, current Mods discuss it when a vacancy becomes available, then the relevant member is approached and it goes from there.
