    little help with chemistry coursework

    yo lads and ladies

    need a little help

    first of all, what is the main chemical that makes soap?

    also what si the best option out of, excel, paint shop pro, and ms paint to draw a bar graph to display the amount of drops of soap to form a lather.....

    i didnt read the link posted above but we've been told that its sodium stearate

    I ahve an eqauation for ti and hard water but i dont know if that's what youa re using.

    Equation:

    sodium stearate + calcium sulphate --> calcium stearate + sodium sulphate
    (soap) (hard water) (scum)

    Um sodium lauryl sulphate and sodium laureth sulphate mean anything to anyone? I think...maybe thats more in washing powders, can't remember now...
