I am personally thinking 3:1 Germany. However I really hope they managed to show Argentina up like they did with Brazil however they do seam to be more cohesive than Brazil have been this world cup. Germany really need to go on a win for there win against Brazil to really mean anything other than a Fluke.

Re: The Official Fifa World Cup Final Match Thread

I predict that the pundits will declare this as one of the most astonishing tournaments in the history of the game. What with The Biter and Brazil's poor performance.

They will say how wonderful Messi is and how crucial Neymar's injury was. They will salivate over Klose's new record and mourn that Rooney is still rubbish.

They will relish the fact that Robben, the player of the tournament, is bald and a little bit of a diver. They will agree that David Luiz is a real man for being a cry baby.

The Germans will win. Or Argentina.

Actually, the winners won't be on the pitch, but they will nonetheless be considerably richer.

And if I'm honest (and I'm no football fan) I have loved it. Now I'm off to watch it all

100% agreed as the group stages where rapping up it very much looked like it could be anyone's world cup which is great for the neutral.

    My prediction -

Some low quality actors with very very low pain thresholds will kick a ball about for 90 minutes. Sometimes it might go in a goal, or not.

    Someone might win, or not.
    Cheers, David

Re: The Official Fifa World Cup Final Match Thread

yes get in germany. i had them backed to win the World cup before it even started,

    Why?

Because this is a team that has been built from the ground up 10+ years ago.

All of these players have grown together for long long. Happy for them

This is how you build a world champion team

Good win by Germany, with such a young team I think we will see them move from strength to strength in the next couple of world cups!

You mean to say you don't remember '66?

It has indeed been a great World cup and the best team won. I would have given the player award to Robben though not Messi. And the trophy for best goalkeeper is hideous!

98 was the first World Cup I watched and this has been the best one since. I started losing faith in international football after 2006 and 2010 but this one definitely brought the excitement back! Congrats to Germany

    ....
Had I seen this thread earlier, which I didn't, my prediction would have been proved absolutely correct.

It would have been that the chances of me watching it, or caring a damn what the result was, would have been the same, at 0%.

My main, if not only post-result reactions, are .... thank goodness it's only once every four years. And is over for another four.

If anyone's getting the impression I'm not a football fan .... what gave me away?

  15. Received thanks from:

    You ol' misery guts. .

I'm no great fan but the World Cup is something special. The Brazilians ran a great event, the shots of Christ the Redeemer were epic and the best TEAM won. I have to admit to watching loads of the matches from Costa Rica to USA, Australia to Iran, Portugal to England and...Deutschland, über alles indeed. Fab.

LOL to be honest, i find it pointless even posting here if you dont care about football.

You dont see me post in thread topics i am not interested in just to have a mini rant on how i do not like said topic!

This is ideally a thread for those interested in the sport.

    get out!!!!!
